Pre-Requisites
- Omnicept headset
- Omnicept Runtime
- Download & Install OBS Studio
- Download and Install Omnicept Overlay
1. Plugin your Omnicept Edition headset so it is Mixed Reality Portal, Win+Y to use your keyboard (You can change this setting in Windows settings so you don't lose keyboard control)
2. Open Omnicept Overlay and Approve App to receive sensor data (check Omnicept Tray)
3. Open [VR Application of your choice]
4. Open OBS Studio
5. Under Sources, select the + icon (see video below if helpful)
- Choose Game Capture:
- Create New: "[Application of Choice]" click OK
- Mode: Capture specific Window
- Window: Find [Application of Choice].exe
- Choose Game Capture:
- Create New: "Omnicept Overlay" click OK
- Mode: Capture specific Window
- Window: Find OmniceptOverlay.exe
- Check "Allow Transparency"
- Optional but it can be helpful, add your webcam
- Choose Video Capture Device and add your webcam
6. Now resize your windows so [Application of choice] game takes up most of the screen, resize your 2D Display if you want and optionally your webcam.
7. Click "Start Recording"
8. Put your headset on and go through your experience
- Note that once Cognitive Load is getting output after about 40 seconds after the headset it put on your head.
10. Stop Recording and your files default to Videos, can change this in settings.
Troubleshooting
If your video is choppy, dropping frames - go to File>Settings and change Encoder from Hardware to Software encode
