How to deploy Unity application to Omnicept??
I've looked through all the documentations online, but still can't figure out how I can "build and run" VR application developed in Unity on HP Omnicept Reverb G2 headset. How can I turn my Unity project into an
.exe or apk (not sure what is the correct file format)? Then how can I load this
.exe file into my HP headset and run it?
I have experience developing VR applications for Quest2, and I remembered building my Unity project into an apk, and then load it into Quest2 through Sidequest. However, I have no idea how I may do the same thing but with HP headset...Please help!!! Thanks
First, you need a .exe, not .apk (as the last one is related to Andorid devices, such as Quest).
On the other hand, to build a .exe, you need to switch the Unity platform in the build settings (https://docs.unity3d.com/Manual/BuildSettings.html).
Then, start building the app. You will obtain a folder with the .exe file. To launch the app, you need to have the HP Omnicept Reverb G2 connected to the computer (always), as it is not a standalone device. So you just have to double click the .exe file and that should work!
Hi, thanks for your response. I downloaded the pre-built demo from here https://developers.hp.com/xr/blog/avatardemo; However, when I clicked on the .exe file, nothing happens. I am pretty sure Omnicept is connected to my computer (I can see the streamed video).
Could you provide me with an example app (e.g. an exe or the source app files) that I can build without extra dependencies or directly run in my headset? Thanks.0
I don't have right now any app to try, I'm sorry. You can try to check whether you have the last version of the softwares needed to use the HP Omnicept, and also check your graphic card controllers. Sometimes an update can solve those problems.
